Sejarah

PT Krakatau Tirta Industri yang didirikan pada tanggal 28 Februari 1996, merupakan anak perusahaan yang sahamnya 99,99% dimiliki oleh PT Krakatau Steel (Persero) dan 0,01% dimiliki oleh PT Krakatau Industrial Estate Cilegon (PT KIEC).

Perusahaan ini sebelumnya merupakan unit penunjang kegiatan operasional PT Krakatau Steel (Persero) dalam bidang penyediaan air bersih yang mulai beroperasi sejak 1978.

Sebagian besar air bersih yang dihasilkan digunakan untuk kebutuhan industri dan sebagian lain untuk kebutuhan masyarakat kota Cilegon. Air baku yang diolah diambil dari sungai Cidanau yang bersumber dari danau alam "Rawa Dano". Air kemudian dialirkan menggunakan pipa diameter 1,4m sepanjang ±28km untuk diolah menjadi air bersih di unit Pengolahan Air, yang terdiri dari beberapa tahapan proses yaitu Koagulasi, Flokulasi, Sedimentasi, Filtrasi, yang diikuti dengan Netralisasi dan Disinfektansi.

Kapasistas yang terpasang di unit pengolahan air saat ini adalah sebesar 2.000 litet/detik, dan baru digunakan 60% utilisasinya.

PT Krakatau Tirta Industry which was established on February 28, 1996, is a subsidiary whose shares are 99.99% owned by PT.
